EVENING...

* WHAT...Heavy Snow is occurring. Plan on slippery road 
  conditions. Total snow accumulation of 4 to 6 inches.

* WHERE...Middle Tanana Valley, from downtown Fairbanks to Fox and
  Cleary Summit, including Ft Wainwright and the first 7 miles of
  Chena Hot Springs Rd.

* WHEN...Until 9 PM today. Heaviest snow is expected through 6 pm,
  then becoming light this evening. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A trained weather spotter on the east end
  of Farmers Loop Rd measured 2.3 inches of snow between noon and
  2pm. Another 3 inches of snow is expected in this same area by
  6pm, with snow becoming light after 6pm.reduced visibilities at

...Heavy snow in the Fairbanks area overnight...

Heavy snow mixed with rain and freezing precipitation at times
fell across the Fairbanks area overnight resulting in 
approximately 4 to 7 inches of snow across the region with 6.5
inches reported at the NWS office at UAF. In addition to the 
heavy snowfall, rain and rain freezing on road surfaces has 
produced difficult travel conditions across the area. Additional 
snowfall of 1 to 2 inches mixing with rain at times is expected 
through approximately noon today.

Heavy snow is now occuring from downtown Fairbanks to Fox and
Cleary Summit, including Ft Wainwright and the first 7 miles of
Chena Hot Springs Rd. A trained weather spotter on the East End 
of Farmers Loop Rd measured 2.3 inches of snow between noon and 
2pm. Another 3 inches of snow is expected in this same area by 
6pm, with snow becoming light after 6pm.

On the west side of Fairbanks, and in North Pole, just light snow
is expected with 1 inch accumulation through 6pm.
